PlayaroundNYC had it's muse in the numerous parks and playgrounds that exist in the small parcels of land left over from the creation of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
My wife and I often discussed how these parks, while appearing well maintained, did not seem to get much use because of their terrible locations. The recent availability of data from the NYC DataMine allowed me to put this observation into a form that could be applied to the whole city and easily viewed by others.
My name is Noel Billig and I live in Brooklyn with my wife and two young children. Our local playground is the Carnegie Playground in Cooper Park and we use it often.
